Welcoming someone through the doors of a church does not require a church to abandon its convictions.
It means recognizing that people need an opportunity to hear the Gospel before we expect them to understand or live according to everything Scripture teaches.
Jesus did not wait for people to repair their lives before He invited them to come near.
He met people where they were, spoke truthfully about their need, and called them to Himself.
Our goal is to help churches create that same kind of Gospel-centered pathway:

Changed behavior is not the Gospel.
Salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone, by grace through faith. Our first responsibility is to introduce people to the Savior who changes hearts and lives.
Every person is made in the image of God and should be treated with compassion, patience, and respect.
We never approach lost or hurting people from above.
We approach them from beside them—as fellow sinners who found mercy.
We faithfully proclaim the truth, speak the truth in love, and trust the Holy Spirit to bring conviction.

Cross & Grace Ministries was founded by Toby and Kate Brillon out of a deeply personal journey involving faith, family, grief, difficult questions, and a renewed understanding of how biblical truth and Christlike compassion must work together.
Their experience helping a child navigate gender dysphoria forced them to confront questions many Christian families and churches are now facing.
Rather than walking away from Scripture, they were driven deeper into it.
They became convinced that churches can remain faithful to biblical truth while responding to hurting and marginalized people with humility, dignity, and compassion.
Today, Toby and Kate help churches prepare for conversations that are already happening in their congregations and communities.
